GET INVOLVED

VOLUNTEER

Each of our in country volunteers will be required to participate in 6 weeks of online group discussions which include Rwandan culture, a brief overview of trust based relational interventions (the model of care we use with our students), planning out the schedule and activities for students while in country and general space for Q/A.

Teams will help staff collect grade cards and letters as well as distribute care packages from sponsor families.

All teams stay in Kigali, with the last night at Akagera National Park for a team de-briefing and opportunity for a real African safari.

Trip costs are all inclusive. Travel insurance is included.

SUMMER 2025

Our summer teams focus giving our students a fun holiday experience. Often, teams choose a theme for a summer camp, and then execute it!  Since our students do not have a typical family life to return home to on holidays, we try to schedule volunteers to be in country around the school calendar.

This team will experience traditional Rwandan church, visit and work with our students all day for several days and share meals with our college and trade school young adults in the evenings.

The last full day in country, teams help charapone a field trip for our primary students to visit Akagera National Park, for a full day safari.

This team is ideal for first time international travelers, families and church groups.

DATE: JUNE. 20th - JUNE.28th

COST: $800 + airfare ($1700 - $2000)

Registration deadline: N/A

SPRING 2025

April is the month of mourning in Rwanda, and although most of the students in our program were not alive during the genocide of 1994, they all attribute their losses to it. During April, schools, government offices and businesses shut down as many commemorative events take place.

This team is for those with experience in grief and loss; social workers, counselors, healthcare workers in pediatrics, psychology or family medicine as well as art, music and movement therapists.

We'll create spaces and activities to facilitate our students in processing their feelings and understanding their mind-body connections.

Must be 18 to volunteer on this team.

After a week of working with our students, we'll spend our last 24 hours taking students on a field trip to Akagera National Wildlife Reservation for an African safari experience.

DATES: April 21st - 29th, 2025
